  1. In fact there is more. At the end of the introduction to Argrath's Saga there is a section with the title Scrawls (p.12, latest version of King of Sartar), which says: In fact, that these scrawls are given in the text is only true for the PDF version, but not for the printed version. The second one is the one cited above already. It's at the end of p.28. The first one is at the end of p.12 and reads:
  2. This is interesting. I was convinced, that I've seen the same statement in the new version of King of Sartar, but looking into my printed version it is indeed missing ... but looking at the end of Argrath's Saga in the PDF version, it is still there: So they say. But it’s still here! And now it’s invisible instead! This is what made our world today, although almost no one remembers it. If you have read this then pass it on, and tell others about it to make sure that you, and they, do not repeat it! That means the printed and the PDF version of King of Sartar differ, which I didn't realise until now.
  3. And what a ride it was! It all started more than five years ago (real time, not game time πŸ˜‰) with the Harvest Games ... (Earth Season 1617) After going through the Harvest Games (several adventures included) at the end of the festival the Orlmarth were attacked, which led to Orane fleeing into the Underworld - that happened more than four year ago (again real time). While searching for a solution of how to find and return Orane I entered the fray, taking over an already existing character nearly three years ago ... Since then we've fought Lunars, visited the Otherworld as well as the Underworld and in the end solved our task ... but certainly not unchanged. This was so much more than just the introductory scenario from Heroquest Glorantha. Thanks, Harald (aka @jajagappa), for this extraordinary experience!
  4. Note, that there is a difference between being initiated to a certain cult (as most youths are in Orlanthi culture) and being an Initiate (with capital I) in a certain cult. From my perspective the difference is the same as (using Christianity as the example here) being through your confirmation/communion (which means, you are now allowed to participate in religious rituals like any other adult) and being a member of the clergy or a monk or something similar (which means, you are a dedicated member of this religion).

    Duckton

Thanks a lot! This answers several questions. But it also raises some more: Stone Nest is now in ruins? Why? When? And now, that we know, that there are two separate cities, which is Duckton, Duck Point or Stone Nest? And what is the canonically correct answer? (But this question goes more into the direction of @Jeff ... πŸ˜‰)

    Duckton

Currently I'm doing a deep dive into King of Sartar, and besides some very confusing terms I run into the location of Duckton in two places: It is mentioned as a location, where Jarolar Saronilsson place his fine work as a wall builder. as the endpoint of the royal trade road established by Tarkalor Saronilsson. These two mentionings are both on p.32 (of the latest edition). Otherwise I can find this location only as part of the term 'Duckton Road', which is mentioned in Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes and in the Guide to Glorantha. Additional details available in the above texts: Tarkolor stretched the royal trade to Duckton to greet the boats which came there. Tarkalor build from Wilmskirk: the Duckton Road to Duck Point ... No other information is available. Neither Duckton nor the term Duckton Road are visible on any of the available maps. So what is Duckton? A town or city? An alternate name for Duck Point? Something else? Inquiring mind needs to know ...
  7. I think I remember, that it was mentioned as part of the Runequest Starter Set, but I may be completely wrong here ...
  8. Not (yet?) fixed on the Chaosium web site - at least not for my account ... 😒
  9. In the text the name of the hamlet is always Farfield, on all the maps it's Fairfield. What's the correct name? (I guess, it's Farfield, but I wanted to be sure ...)
  10. Thanks for the effort, David! Small remark: the keyboard displays on the page link show the same runes for lower and upper case ...
  11. Aaah, Gen Con ... sadly completely wrong continent 😟 So may you consider to do something similar for The Kraken in October? (Given the books are not yet available in print officially, which I do not expect currently ...)
  12. Harald (aka @jajagappa) runs his campaigns on the RPGGeek web site in the format of Play-by-Forum games these days (I'm a lucky participant in two of them 😍). So I guess, what you're looking for is his Nochet Campaign. In addition you can find the Nochet, City of Queens page on glorantha.com. I may be wrong, but I was under the impression, that the Nochet map on this page is from @jajagappa too ...
  13. I could imagine, that Donandar entertainers use their illusion magic to create effects similar to fireworks on our blue marble without any need for black powder ...
  14. There is an example adventure in HeroQuest - Roleplaying in Glorantha (aka HQ1), which has the title Chasing Kites. This adventure is about recovering a sacred kite, which has been stolen by a giant raven during a kite-fighting contest. Here the kites are used in the context of ancestor worship.
  15. Sources about the Temple of the Wooden Sword I know of: Wyrms Footprints - a whole 7 page article telling the story of the Temple of the Wooden Sword from its beginning until the end in 1615. Sartar Companion - several bits of information in the context of Clearwine Fort description, the Old Wind Temple description and the "Gifts of Stone" adventure, which is located in the Sazdorf troll clan area.
  16. Yes, this is a serious and valid question. But my main objection would be: player characters are not average characters. So with MGF in mind I would refrain from using these quantifiable differences in the character creation process. Unless the players want to do it, but I do not see, why they should ... So basically I do not see that as something missing in the rules. It's up to the players and the GM to decide, if they want to play it that way.
  17. I know, that Claudia Loroff was working a Gloranthan cookbook (see question 6 in the referenced interview), but I have no information about the current state, and if it will ever happen for real (the blog entry is roughly one year old ...).
  18. I don't recall any notice to that regard. Nobody is nagging, but it would be nice to have. ... From the Stretch Goals list on the Guide to Glorantha Kickstarter campaign page: I guess, that's what's meant here. But I've never seen the Companion Gazetteer, so I can not tell, if this monograph has been included or not ...

Me goes with the "bee" ... πŸ˜‰
  20. 1. Using a flashlight has a visual effect 2. People on this Earth don't consider it cheating, especially if you use a flashlight for enhancing your sight during dusk or dawn. There is no difference between using a technical device and training your eyes to see better (especially during dusk or dawn). 3. So using a technical device, which has a visual effect, but there is no difference between using it or your own eyes only. Does that make sense?
