  1. Hey pookie, nice review. Glad you like it.I thought it a good rippin’ yarn, myself.
  2. While I am digging up material... I will be ready by Sunday maybe... In the meantime, what did you have in mind?
  3. Oh, yeah! Nice call. Had not seen that put in such a way and I was waffling on the buying of loyalty. I understood the idea but had a caveat that I could not name... . (Caveat thy name is “Good Orlanthi Generosity, Bad Friends Happen“). cheers
  4. Y’all got a rooster in a vault for sale for 5 bucks, owned by a gent called Anaxial... Qizilbashwoman, you still got that bridge?
  5. Interestingly fo me. that was that was the beauty inherent in the whole point. You can not get a whole lot more hardboiled than Dashiell Hammett , and we were taking about ways his work impacted Japanese cinema...
  6. I understand the one I worked on is selling well so....
  7. Very true, and welcome , those first posts can be as hard as yer first publication, so thanks for sharing....
  8. Well sir, count me as one of those 116. Thanks!
  9. Ah I see, well I have found the Orson Wells radio play The Glass Key so I will have to give it a listen... Cheers
  10. I can see that, Rutger Hauer is often underrated and left in a pigeon hole of tuff action dood but since with his great speech in .Blade Runner, I have had a fondness for him. So are you recommending, “Glass Key”? The book or the movie or neither. you are simply citing it? This sounds interesting, might have to check this out for the Orson...
  11. I will still go with the first ....now Dashell Hammett.... as to the first source i saw whilst Duck, duck going... American writer Dashiell Hammett’s novels The Glass Key (1931) and Red Harvest (1929) have often been cited as sources for Kurosawa’s Yojimbo. As far as I can know, however, Kurosawa himself rather pointed towards the 1942 film noir adaptation of The Glass Key as the actual source that he used. Don’t know this gent from adam (Vili Maunula), but... what were you looking at for that in the way of source...
  12. I just wish to point out you have extremely violent tendencies toward ducks that you really should have take care of...
  13. Now look here feller, I have hoehorned more cultures than there are angels dancing on pins.... and if I wanna hoehorn more, well it’s my gods given right (it’s right here in the constitution I am sure of it..). Hoehorning my way into history!
  14. But I don’t weigh as much as a duck nor can I float like a duck oh please I really am not a witch...
  15. YGWV. I always knew that some used it as a way of covering up what some might assume (wrongly) are embarrassing areas of Glorantha (slowly starts pushing duck back behind with sole of foot. Duck protests, but is suddenly kicked backed with force releasing a gasped exhalation and a startled quack covered by quick harrumphing. "Sorry, frog in my throat. What was that .... What was what... As i was saying... Ducks, don’t need em, I mean your game may vary, right?" Me, I like that if I want Scandinavian/Celtic types and my table agrees, well damn it, my game will vary thankyouverymuch and I shan’t invite naysayers to kibitz and decry the horror of my choice.
  16. 6} use the rules and the cults as yer buddies and friends in yer quest to be a murderhobo, (kinda). An issaries merchant requires guards for a caravan to the far and exotic lands of Prax, Tarsh, Balazar. To help the caravan a) navigate new lands b) give early warning about dangers, (fordless rivers, hostile natives and dangerous monsters) c) Provide entertainment for the wealthy travellers with big game hunts—the Caravan master will be hiring hunters ands scouts. To record these new finds , make maps of the new lands and to document his heroics in a scholarly way, he will be looking for sages as well (language skills paid a premium). These books maps and facts can be sold for a heathy profit. As these will be new trips for this merchant he would love to hire a skald to write songs and poems about his heroic and epic travels for the peoples he will encounter as well. Advertising... with jingles... Various travelling puppeteers, illusionist, musicians, gamblers and street vendors as well as beggars will follow along as will other types of camp followers. Caravans are not cheap, so a few wealthy touristy types will be along, to help allay costs. going from post a to b or just going native as it were. Other merchants and there entourage will come along for for the safety in numbers and the caravan master will allow this for the extra troops, and the greater diversity this will bring to market. The murderhobos can be any of these and more, much much more... Cheers
  17. Well. I must say, your post is an interesting opening gambit in saying hello to us all. Nice to meet you and welcome. Not sure what to make of all this though. Are you saying hello and by the way the idea of playing the game you paid for as you wish, well it sucks... I am sure that is not what you mean, so again welcome.
  18. Until RQ G when I started a torkani campaign I always told my players they had been told that Trolls were demons. For two reasons, jajagappa gives one below, and the second reason: I never felt it was my job to tell the adventurers the truth... Cheers
  19. Welll, what Charles says, I will just have to give you the same answer he already has. This is the reason I gave you the answer I did. The boys that built Glorantha have always left a bit of wiggle room. You decide. How do you want it to be, It is a hallucinatory experience after all with or with out drugs, so really the truth of the situation is a lot more existential than that. Or the only truth is the myths you walk away with as well as the fact that them tatties is pretty real. Cheers
  20. For example here is one way to view it... Form the mind of Jeff Richards and the pens of Kalin Kadiev. Image 1: no tats, image 2: getting tats Image 3: all tatted up... Oh and never mind the tats, google (Of course I prefer Duck, Duck, Go) Prince of Sartar and start reading....] Below, a youth about to undergo an initiateship and has been taken to a holy place by nis “uncles" and undergoes a series of heroquest to become an adult."
