  1. I just uploaded one to the downloads section. This is the second for Magic World. They are both under Fantasy.
  2. 396 downloads

Something thrown together during play test.
  3. Actually, RQ2/3 made such a distinction. Shortsword was in a different category than Broadsword, though this was incorrect IMHO. Now, as to the skill. It should be 1h Sword. That should cover use of all swords used with one hand; perhaps with a temporary penalty if you use a weapon that is very different from what you normally use. Say, -15% for going from something like a Bastard Sword (using one hand) to a Gladius (shortsword) for the first combat or two. Things were broken down this way in RQ2 and RQ3, but people seem to have had issues with the categories, or the items contained within, or something, and things became more "simplified" afterwards. 4. The biggest issue with Percentile Attributes I think is going to be monsters. We are going to see some wildly large numbers in those stat blocks. And yes, it is an eyesore, makes things a bit more difficult to read IMHO. SDLeary
  5. I don't believe there is any implicit NDA; there has been discussion over on RPGnet, and Paul Fricker has been answering some questions. SDLeary
  6. I'd suggest you go back and read again. Not just that comment, but the discussion before. SDLeary
  7. WOW! I totally overlooked this. Must have thought... "OH GOD... multi-page table.... skip." SDLeary
  8. And, you can find a slightly more extensive one if you get he SuperWorld PDF. SDLeary
  9. I don't think they lost a big bit of their functionality, but things did shift a bit. Its trivial to dump the Resistance Table back in, its formula, or use opposed rolls to recover their importance though. Remember, while RQ is more focused on Fantasy, it is a toolbox, like the BGB. Thats why you might notice some of the writing a bit open. The authors want you to tailor it to your game an style. SDLeary
  10. I remember you mentioning this before. A question is about the weapons themselves. Do the weapons have anything, such as effects against certain things, that might differentiate them? For example, what can I do with a 2h Spear that I can't do with a shortsword? Also, how do you figure missile weapons into this? SDLeary
  11. Noble Knight has them from time to time, but they go for a pretty penny. If you do look it up, use Reston Publishing in your search. SDLeary
  12. Jack, If you look here and on RPGnet, there are threads talking about using BRP for Ravenloft, which should provide some guidance. SDLeary
  13. I think he meant Sorcery in the BGB. Sorcery in the Magic Book is a different beast, its the old RQIII Sorcery system. It would work but would need to be modified somewhat into a more general system. Right now that system works best to model the "Old Wizard in the Tower" stereotype. SDLeary
  14. Honestly that would depend on your setting. Because BRP is multi-genre, they used relative expense and allow you to customize it for the used setting. SDLeary
  15. You might want to double check on that. I think that it might prove problematic unless you have a BRP license or Permission from Chaosium. It is a Trademark iirc. SDLeary
  16. While this could be done in BRP, it does sound like FATE or HQ would be a better fit. SDLeary
  17. Not so much set by the skill level of the heroes, but based upon the story need vs. the skill level of the heroes. So a similar action later in a campaign will probably have a higher resistance because the adventurers abilities have increased. SDLeary
  18. No... Pendragon is a d20 based system. d6 ARE used for damage... most damage being based upon the strength and size of the Knight rather than the particular weapon. Pendragon itself can be seen as something of an offshoot from RQ2 or early versions of BRP. In those versions, most skill advancement was in 5% increments. If you going to use such a coarse advancement system, why use d100? So resolution was changed to d20. Roll system in Pendragon is d20 blackjack. SDLeary

    New News!

No one, but in the announcement it wasn't mentioned, so I think we all thought it was pushed back with the other items. SDLeary

    New News!

I too was hoping for the Briton book, more because I like Pete's treatment of subjects (ROME anyone) than anything else. However, I like Glorantha as well, and would love to see an official treatment that works in d100, that is somewhat more in line with current thought of the world. SDLeary

    New News!

Loz and Pete went Con-ing this weekend, and look what they found in the treasure chest! SDLeary
  22. A new episode?! GAH! SDLeary
  23. The order p189 appears to be the correct interpretation. The only thing that I'm aware of that runs outside of DEX ranks is Magic and Powers. Now I suppose it could have originally been an "advantage" for the old powers system that appeared in the drafts, and just missed editing when it was migrated to the spot rules. SDLeary
  24. With a single weapon you can only attack once, unless your skill is over 100% with that weapon. You could punch, kick, etc though. SDLeary
