  1. No. No No, the Fireblade replaces the weapon damage. Per the Firelade Q&A. You either have the sword's special abilities or the fireblade spell. Not both.
  2. There’s no English version. I bought the French PDF and use the built in translation of my computer. Works well.
  3. Please remember: If you want to complain about Jeff's notes, please take it elsewhere. Before posting, please pay attention to the tone of your posts, this is a public forum. Rudeness will not be tolerated.
  4. Pleas As the announcement above, July. Please note that we don't do pre orders per:
  5. Yes. The best place to start is on our website, with the Most Anticipated RPG of 2023, from there you will have plenty to read! You may also have seen some retails announcing pre-orders with the cover: https://www.blackfire.eu/en-gb/pendragon-starter-set-en-96504
  6. It actually says next turn. The idea is that they kill the target by constriction, then swallow it, then dissolve it. If you look at their tactics, they are hanging from a cliff. If the target is a rider, they are now swinging horseless in the air. If the adventurers can reach the victim, they can of course sever the tongue. I would suggest that due to its nature, it can pull the toad's SIZ, give it half the armour, and the hit points of an arm (old ones will have tongues like very thick rope).
  7. When contributing to this thread, please just use BRP as the rest of the title is in the topic title (so no need to repeat it).
  8. The only thing I would like done to the list now is for references to the info to be add (citation needed). If you can point to references of where the mentions/ announcements were made, I will add them to the list. The idea being that those reading this list can read where it came from. I’ve already done this with the newer products.
  9. You might not be aware that you can have your own blog on this site! https://basicroleplaying.org/blogs/ Lots of people put their reports there because you can add to them and they don't get lost in topics. You can then announce new entries in the relevant forums. This is just a suggestion.
  10. I've moved the list of published heroquests to a new topic:

It's the passion that your player take that defines their group, at the lowest amongst them. Everyone could take Loyalty (Cool skirmish band name) or use their Loyalty (clan) etc. It defines the cohesiveness of the group. If the group isn't cohesive enough, they can't do daring things. My players all had Loyalty (Thane of Apple Lane) as that's who they all work for at 60%, so their Guiding Passion was 60%. By the end of the battle, it was at 85%
  12. Generally speaking animals try to get out of the way of blows with a DEXx2 ability, some are better at it so it's labeled Dodge. (Yes the bestiary does say on page 8 - A creature with no Dodge skill does not dodge in combat.) Think about how the animal is built, most wouldn't parry, but might have antlers, armour, etc. Yes, if the GM wants. But I'd have the bear grapple... Yes, always think about what the animal would do. See the guidelines in the Bestiary Q&A Always assume they try always try to dodge where appropriate.
  13. While not specifically addressing your concerns (Mike is currently at Chaosium Con), there is a correction doc here: https://basicroleplaying.org/topic/5988-errata-updates/#comment-210447 If you haven't already, you may like to join the #chaosium channel over on the Foundry Discord https://discord.gg/foundryvtt
  14. I've moved the usual derailing Elmal / Yelmalio conversation to a new topic.
  15. Yes, but note that the sanity rules presented in BRP are not the Call of Cthulhu rules but are a radical simplification of the Sanity system as presented in Chaosium Inc.’s Call of Cthulhu game line.
  16. None of them were chaotic, one of the sorcerers was part of a gloomy death cult (of the player's making), the other Seven Mothers, also not chaotic (and from the same clan as the Storm Bulls). Individually the Storm bulls found no chaos, and the seven mothers sorcerer even had a hate chaos passion (from the family histories section Killed by Chaos (broo, disease spirit, ogres, scorpion men, etc.). Gain Hate (Chaos).) The Storm Bulls, agreed that while they hated the Seven Mothers, these people seemed okay and also fought against chaos...
  17. Perhaps also worth noting the Learning New Spells on p.390: Yes, but as noted, just for new spells, not the three already selected.
  18. RQG page 386: Each sorcery spell is a skill, and a sorcerer has a percentage chance to successfully cast it. Sorcery spells are modified by the sorcerer’s Magic skills category modifier, as well. It's a single roll (don't forget to add any sympathetic magic modifiers and ritual bonuses). As with all magic, there may be a second POW vs POW roll needed. A Sorcery spell's level is determined by cult and occupation when creating your adventurer (plus any experience, training or research) eg: A philosopher (RQG 70): gets three spells starting at 00% then adds Occupational Skills: (Sorcery spell) +10%, (Sorcery spell) +20%, (Sorcery spell) +10%, then if a Lhankor Mhy initiate: Cult Sorcery: Cultists trained in sorcery start as having mastered the principles of the Truth Rune and the technique of Command (see page 381). They may add +25%, +10%, and +10% to any three spells chosen from the following list... So you could start with three spells, one at 45%, two at 20% plus your magic bonus. When writing down your spells, all you need to know is the magic point cost per level of manipulation So for a Lhankor Mhy initiate who has mastered Command and Truth and knows the following spells: Logician 40% 2+2mp/level* Reveal Rune 20% 2+1mp/level** Solace of the Logical Mind 20%, 2+1mp/level** * Summon not mastered so double cost to manipulate ** technique and rune mastered so normal cost to manipulate
  19. The circle is immobile on whatever it has been cast—if cast on something mobile (for example, a ship’s deck), the circle moves with it. The circle was cast on the Storm Bull, so was immobile on the Storm Bull (ie moved with her). With a Range of 1, the circle is 1/10 that gave a 1m radius around the Storm Bull. Which was the point, as it forms layers of protection. It was purely defensive to stop the pack animals being taken down. It was either mobile warrior protection or animal protection. It worked very well.
  20. In one of my games, one of the Lunar Sorcerers (Free INT 12) would cast Protective Circle on the caravan leader or the Storm Bull on the Full Moon. Strength 1, Range 1, Duration 10 for 11 magic points /2 6 and then boost it with their remaining 10 or so. Others would then add spirit magic to it (protection usually and in one case spirit screen). This was about the limit of effectiveness of the spell due to the casting time vs duration and free INT. The player figured out that the most effective use of sorcery is its duration over other forms of magic. Everyone had Boon of Karan Tor for a season. The real limiting actor is free INT. For the Lunars this is likely a very effective spell in the hands of the Lunar Colleges of Magic with specialists assigned just to cast this.
  21. It's all here: https://www.chaosium.com/blog/ then basically the same out onto our other social media. If you subscribe to this as an RSS feed, or our twitter or FB feed, you'll get it all in the one place. here's the atom/RSS feed for our news: https://www.chaosium.com/rss.php?action=newblogs&type=atom
  22. You can also do a tag search on the Well of Daliath for Sun Dome (Sartar)

  24. This is a table not an ability roll, there is no auto/fail/success, just outcome. When tables are designed, and bonuses are applied, the more likely outcome is placed at or near the top (or the table extended). See the family history tables as an example. Depending on your group you may also want to consider ignoring this table (i have a player whose child has died, and one who has suffered serious illness). Lines and veils had already flagged this.
