    Beholders.

I don't know of a home brew one, but maybe @threedeesixhas a better idea
  2. This is actually the most pressing question I’ve had in Mythras in a long time.
  3. @ReluctantGM wizard and cleric are going to be very close to their standard classic fantasy layouts I suspect. Maybe an extra gift here and there. The diviner gets to keep an extra d100 roll, for example. advantage is a reroll. That is covered by luck points, which, in and of themselves, map very well to inspiration. in my view, I think bonus actions map closely to special effects. Many of those could be just made into a custom special effect. Action points themselves are different, and sort of map oddly. You gotta think that a 5e character has a move and a standard and often a bonus action. hit me up sometime with the classes you are looking at. 5e is actually not bad at all to convert
  4. Picked it up yesterday and looking forward to reading through it.
  5. i noticed it was misformatted a bit in the newsletter. nothing that a knowledgeable person cannot decipher, but a thing none the less if you aren't a computer person.
  6. The RAW here is that there are no spells in sorcery Specifically to make a spirit do anything, and he’s left to negotiate. You could easily rule spirits are Creatures and use Dominate. I could see borrowing the animism rules and Applying appropriately. A true name might be needed, or some skill in poetry to impress him, or maybe even commerce. The RAW here is very much a toolkit.

    Mythra Wushu

Indeed, but almost certainly not the hero, and likely only a minor protagonist if a protagonist. The giant weapon is often portrayed as slow and dangerous, which is counter to the protagonist. essentially, anything with an H force I think is probably in this category. Spears and other pole arms are much more used. You get the very occasional dadao or other two handed sword, and there is the scene in crouching tiger hidden dragon with the weapon the heroine cannot carry, but it’s uncommon. It doesn’t suit the Aesthetic

    Mythra Wushu

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BQu_jPAGhE_iolp1e5Ao9WmQBfy0wmqpI0NEYMaiqwQ/edit I also did a bunch of powers specifically for the Classic Fantasy monk that would work. "Thought about it" - yes. Could have a pile of martial arts styles, each with different special effects and tie them to mysticism effects as well. Armor and big weapons are not going to be anywhere as common. edit: you can probably find more using the spelling "wuxia".

    The Hook

It’s a bit irritating, but mostly not. My group has been together a long time and we trust each other. We are very lucky.
  10. You can get an idea of how it works with Agony & Ecstasy, which is an adventure for Mythras and includes pregens and a subset of what is in Destiny. I find it pretty clever.
  11. Do you have an editable version that could be shared?
  12. Most definitely. When I get asked about how to balance fights and I toss in the action point metric, I make sure to tell them to total both sides. skill times action points = some arbitrary white box combat effectiveness rating. It's very simplistic, but assuming same levels of armor and damage, it works pretty well.
  13. I love the special effects table. I am passing it to my players immediately, even though most of them are pretty familiar. I would consider putting firearms in on the drop foes special effect
  14. definitely a different take on D&D, but still has the same feel. it does a fair bit of twisting and manipulation of Mythras. good stuff, and worth the pick up
  15. Mythras also has a Discord server https://discord.gg/RqwyHdG there is also the Mythras matters podcast and the Opposed Roles podcast - the latter of which I’m half of and we discuss some of these issues.
  16. They get their characteristics as well, so str+dex+10% he appears to be using classic fantasy, @fulk so a little different rules.
  17. Correct. The attacker can also choose location to bypass those locations.
  18. Well, it seemed like a good start. We have a third episode idea as well, but less controversial.
  19. I don't think anything we have not heard. you didn't mention Lyonesse, but we knew that one. Oh, and a spy one, which those of us who follow obsessively closely are aware of.
  20. meaty and lengthy! 1 hour and 20 minutes! You can tell you and pete spent 10 years working out what you wanted.
  21. This appears to be missing one key part that, while not present in the BRP version, was referenced in the BRP version - the wealth levels table. The Mythras MR references “items above their wealth level”, but there is no reference to what that means. Can a destitute person afford an average puglio or must he have a benefactor? I am unable to find anything that would give a pointer. P18 does give a wealth cap, but it doesn’t map to an item value. re: @StanTheMan the mass combat rules should work, though I had the same hesitation at first. The trick is there isn’t much melee combat everyone is shooting with their blasters, and thus it feels a little odd. A lot of skirmishing.
  22. It is very much like a chessecake - delicious, one of the top choices, but also hard to sit down and eat a whole one (despite what my wife will tell me).
  23. The more you make subsystems for a 40 year old game systems, the more likely you are to run into someone who had the same gripes and ideas and did it up to their preference
  24. You know, as much as I like Mythras, I understand this comment. It is a very dense book for content, and can be very hard to take in. I swear to you, it took me quite a long time to really have it all ingested.
