  1. Is it just me or is anyone else having problems sending PMs? Sorry @Minion1stClass et al, seems while I can reply to topics and create them I cannot not reply to PMs at the moment. Could be my horrible connectivity or it could signal probs at BRP Central. I wonder if this is connected to the search problem.
  2. Perfect, this is the best way I have seen it put (sorry soltakss, I know you thought your argument superior...). Zounds! Yep. chacun à son goût (hey, I was there too) 😎... Cheers
  3. Well we are a little different as well, We have yet to do a review, We mention things we like from our peers (the JC, fellow podcasters, web folk) and why we like ‘em and we mention stuff from our fave RPG company. All just as long as they are talking about Glorantha. In some ways maybe we should not do reviews, just let people know what we like and where to find it. After all we are trying to be the nice guy and do not want to pan our picks. Then you will like us, we like to buy our stuff (He ain't all there, is he?)!
  4. Amazing, when I had a chance to think I realized I had a good portion of the answer. Evaluation copies on loan will solve integrity issues,. Of course the richer of the Podcast crew have bought copies but for those of us the find things tight we could and have taken a loaner but, not unsolicited (we can always ask you if we cover your work) which we can destroy when the episode is done. We have done that once, but we were told to keep the copy. And in our current interview we have a loaner we will destroy when done. Though I am just a vote amongst three, I can safely say "Integrity rules” (it just doesn’t pay)! I am sure we will get around to reviewing and talking about Beer with Teeth In the future as we have in the past. I myself have liked what I have seen! Cheers
  5. How about a tired and overworked (just coming up for air after our Cattle Raid episode and getting our Glorantha Has Talent? off the ground) writer, cofounder and part owner of a podcast? We are going to have to decide on our policy for accepting review copies, how would this compromise our integrity, etc. @lordabdul @Joerg, comments. Though we should probably take this into PM or an editor’s meeting and thrash it out. Cheers
  6. Ah but a) would it summon dogs and bats, and b) considering you are the source of this info, could you be a little more accurate in your description of said bat... i.e. the colour specifically?
  7. Glorantha Has Talent? May Orlanth toss those that profane these rules from his cloud May Vaneekara cast those offending souls into the maw of oblivion Worse yet, may Eurmal detune these curs' lyres at the worst possible moment Should malfeasance be their goal! The Contest Rules Entries have to be follow these constraints (Judges might tend to leniency) Audio-media must be sent to “our dropbox in the clouds” in most modern audio formats This can be via email : tribe@windwords.fm This can be via the following upload link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/aORt2e9DPOg7RqEHnput No more than 3 minutes in length. In good taste and PG 13. Must allow us publishing rights for the Podcast and Web-Site for the duration of the contest. Further rights may be negotiated. Entries will be received until the 21st of September, midnight, PDT (later at the judges discretion, only). Judging First vetting done by Podcast Crew Those that make the cut go onto the judges for the finals, Each judge gets three votes to distribute as he or she sees fit and may divide these in any way they choose or give all three to one entry. We will cull half the entries at this time to those with the most votes. Ties will be decided by Bill, Jörg and Ludo as above (3 votes, etc). And then for those who advance, three then will be chosen to be our Prince of Entertainment, our Chieftain of Mirth and our Thane of Good Humour (first, second and third). In disputes or disagreements, Ludo, Bill, and Joerg’s joint decision will be final! Who may not enter The podcast hosts and the podcast crew, judges, and those who have given prizes for the contest Glorantha Has Talent?, AND their families. Guide for the Judges Use 1. entertainment 2. Gloranthaness 3. production values as your guides. And then add in your own values. Be ready to defend these on air. Principles Ludo’s note about is a great guide but we do have a few more principles we would like to use. They are briefly noted below. Fun Fairness Simplicity Nice Judging Glorantha-ness
  8. Good lord man, look at the hour on your home clock! Didn’t you go to bed after finishing the Story Notes for Wind Words 6th episode? Gadzooks! Oh and thanks for the great transcript and work, now off to your dungeon!
  9. Sounds pretty good, I like the idea of moving myth forward and meta gaming backwards. At least in RQ, the meta gaming actually works pretty well in d&d... I like to think the effort put into the little things that you describe help to make the myths the reality. Yes, as above... its the little things that make the world rich and rather than quoting @Joerg, let me simply say, yep!
  10. Baaaa dummmm............ Baaaa dummmm............ Baa dumm, Baa dumm..... Baa dumm, Baa dumm, Baa dumm, Baa dumm... —Hummed to the tune of the theme music for a certain shark movie....
  11. I have thought about this and discarded the thought. As Nick says, the players will never know and the game works rather well without having to change very much at all. Add in the passions and runes to taste and then have at it.
  12. Don’t even get me started talking about the anti-zombie properties of the Guide to Glorantha (remember kids, head shots only).
  13. He is asking for 40 clacks, but so far have bargained him down to 35!
  14. Don't laugh bill, don’t laugh.. it will only encourage them.
  15. Now all you have to do is record this in an interesting manner et voila, an interesting entry to Glorantha Has Talent? (see elsewhere on this website)...I might be sick but i can envision a muppet news cast... complete with old farts heckling from the balcony.
  16. Ya do know the topic was of things that are sweeter in their brevity not things that go great together. and speaking of topics... We will close the curtain on this sad scene and wonder how one... Canadian.... can.... act... so... badly! And whether thread stability can be achieved... or did it even exist?
  17. No it is not just you, Canada is looking at this as well! That's the one, could not remember UBI, Thanks And how do you feel about phasers and the colour red? In God and Samuel Colt we trust, all others pay cash! I’ll take two! Sadly lordabdul, you have a point. Interestingly ST did look at aspects of greed, crime, unfulfilled need, addiction and prostitution, all in the Federation. Wrong planet, wrong time, government collapse and/or corruption and the Federation begins to show a little tarnish in its shine.. If this is a direction a game maker wanted to go, having a look at ST might be of use. here. Wanted to find criticism here, but unable to. There was only one book SF book I can think of that tried to sidestep politics and move even beyond an ideal Bakunin style anarchism was Olaf Stapleton in his book Star Maker. Been decades since I red this so it is possible I misremember but it seems the quest of the book was to transcend humanity and trivialities of politics... become enlightened. perhaps.... or become stardust, golden as Joni Mitchell might say Yes please, where do I sign? The folk of the Serenity wishes they had that! Well that took a while to fix... .
  18. Love em both, just don’t hand me a red shirt and a phaser and expect me to follow you.
  19. And I was about to boast how I would’ve been much faster if it was not for the podcast and contest. :) I am more in the frame of mind of the marine in Aliens of “Nuke ‘em from orbit, man, it’s the only way to be sure!"
