  1. Say something nice about CoC? Sorry, I can't ...
  2. It is one of the best things about the new RuneQuest! I am easily pleased ...
  3. Nah, the best thing to do is to wait to see what happens, then complain bitterly for 20 years.
  4. I have always used the priest's skill, for convenience.
  5. My guess is that what people want on forums will not make the slightest bit of difference to what they actually get. Business decisions should not be made as knee-jerk reactions to forum comments.
  6. Who needs William Tell when we already have William of Cloudsley? He shot an apple off his son's head at 60 paces.
  7. If it's anything like my "agreement" with my spouse, if you break it then you don't get to write any more RPG supplements. Never underestimate the power of a spouse to stop you doing things you enjoy ...
  8. Merrie England has has several incarnations: Merrie England: Age of Eleanor - MRQ and was a basic Medieval England supplement which went out of print when Mongoose lost the RuneQuest licence. Merrie England: Age of Chivalry - BRP and included all of ME:AoE plus a lot more (Guilds, The Afterlife, Ranks of Demons, Fairy Village Campaign) which went out of print when Alephtar could not renew the BRP licence Merrie England:Robyn Hode - RD100 will include most of ME:AoE as a core, together with some of the extra stuff from ME:AoC, but with a different campaign with a Robyn Hode focus, new rules for different contests (Archery, Wrestling, Music in addition to the Jousting rules), a lot of scenario hooks and short writeups of people from the area surrounding Sherwood Forest. In future, if all goes well, I plan on having a number of Merrie England follow-ups, with Merrie England: Age of Crusade and ME:Heaven and Hell containing some of ME:AoC but with a lot more detail and different campaigns. So, if you buy ME:Age of Chivalry then between a third and a half will be replicated in Robyn Hode, simply because this is a new incarnation of the setting. However, between half and two-thirds will be new material. Even the old material will be repackaged and rewritten to take into account the RD100 ruleset. I would have liked to have a core Merrie England supplement, covering basic Medieval English life, with different supplements covering different areas, but it hasn't quite happened that way. Age of Chivalry was a number of planned supplements bundled together with the core supplement. Robyn Hode strips some of the bundled supplements away, allowing them to be used in future, but expands the Robyn Hode setting and campaign.
  9. Restructuring an entire company takes time, yes, but how many employees does Chaosium/Moon Design have? It isn't like General Motors and Ford are merging. I expect everything will turn out OK in the end and that our favourite games continue.
  10. If one of the unnecessary bells/whistles is allowing to log onto some forums, perhaps it needs a few more bells/whistles.
  11. Regardless of the INT, he did ignore the trollkin and got killed - pretty stupid if you ask me.
  12. They can be changed, in fact I changed mine recently - There is an edit button somewhere. The sigs are limited to 5 lines and a very few links, but they can be created and edited.
  13. For that price, she'd have to do more than just run a game!
  14. DBZ? Wikipedia says: dBZ (meteorology), decibels of Z, a meteorological measure of equivalent reflectivity (Z) of a radar signalDragon Ball Z, the anime adaptation of the second portion of the Dragon Ball mangaDivided by Zero, an American rock bandDean Zelinsky (born 1957), American guitar designer and founder of DBZ GuitarAlthough a RPG based around a rock band sounds good, I'm guessing the manga one.
  15. Some people might like the idea, but I am of the "I roleplay to play someone else" camp. Also, my opinion of my stats is probably different to other people's ideas, except for SIZ which is my weight in stones. One way of doing it is to ask everyone in the game to write down what they think the characteristics are for everyone else, then take the most common values. Better do it anonymously, though. It might be OK for a Gor-style campaign, or a Post-Apocalypse game, where modern people are dropped into a new situation.
  16. Any system can handle a dungeon crawl. OpenQuest is loosely based on RQ/BRP so should be OK.
  17. The Alephtar games forum was OK, except for the SPAM, but I prefer BRP Central. Unless you really need a forum which you can control, I'd suggest staying here for the time being.
  18. The link is Licensed BRP Books. Merrie England is cursed - Two versions, both out of print.
  19. If there is one thing that I have learned in my years playing RPGs, it is that I shouldn't throw things away from a system just because a new version has come out. I now mix and match rules from different versions of systems, to make my game better. I would not be surprised if other people using other systems didn't do the same.
  20. As BRP and RQ6 are not entirely compatible, the best we can hope for is something that sits in between, That's good enough for me.
  21. If it had been $99,999,999.99 then I might have been interested.
  22. Loz and Pete wrote some material for Mongoose RuneQuest, mainly MRQ2, Vikings and Blood Magic, I think. They haven't written for Legend and I very much doubt that they would do, as they have a perfectly good version of RuneQuest to write for.
